Registration in the regular program (No language courses) is conditioned by obtaining a TOEFL score of 530 (iBT: 71) or and 4.5 (iBT: 19) in the writing section. Otherwise, an academic writing course will be required.

First semester (Level 1):
         ALS1001 Academic Listening, Speaking 1
         ARD1001 Academic Reading 1
         AWG1001 Academic Writing & Grammar 1
         + one course of the program

Second semester (Level 2):
         ALS1002 Academic Listening, Speaking 2
         ARD1002 Academic Reading 2
         AWGT1002 Academic Writing & Grammar 2
         + one course of the program
 

B. If your TOEFL score is between 480 and 527 (iBT: 54 and 69), you will be placed in the Language Center level 2 or a combination of level 1 and level 2 depending on your TOEFL sub scores.

C. A TOEFL score between 380- 417 allows you to register in the pre-academic program (3 semesters) at Language Center.

NB. The stay in Language center varies between a minimum of one semester and two full semesters.

Applicants to the Master of Arts in International Studies and Diplomacy  or in Master of Arts in North African and Middle Eastern Studies MUST HAVE a score between 500 and 547 (iBT: 61 and 77) to enroll in the Al Akhawayn University Language Center.

 
A. If your TOEFL score is between 450 and 477 (iBT: 45 and 53), you will be placed in the Language Center level 1. Please find below Language Center courses per semester.

First semester (Level 1):

B. If your TOEFL score is between 480 and 547 (iBT: 54 and 77), you will be placed in the Language Center level 2 or a combination of level 1 and level 2 depending on your TOEFL sub scores.

C. A TOEFL score below 450 (iBT: 45) (500 (iBT: 61) for Master of Arts) does not allow you to register in Al Akhawayn University Language Center.  In this case, please follow the steps below:

1. Postpone your enrollment for the subsequent semester by completing the Enrollment Postponement form (Postponement form) and faxing it to Admissions and Outreach Office to 0535 86 21 77 with a non refundable five thousand dirhams (5 000 Dhs) advance payment along with the receipt of payment before the set deadline ( for newly admitted ); OR
2. Retake the TOEFL, to know about the next institutional TOEFL test, please contact the Admission & Outreach Office at: 0535 86 20 86/78/76/75 or 2119.

Al AKhawayn University accepts a valid IETLS as an international English Language Testing System. It can replace the TOEFL to measure candidates’ proficiency of English language.
