Description

Pre-requisites: FIN 3302 and FIN 3303
It reviews the theory and practice of financial intermediations, and focuses on intermediaries as economic institutions that facilitate and provide the social role of transferring financial resources from savers to investors (borrowers). Methods of structuring assets and liabilities are presented, and the goals and frameworks of various intermediaries, such as commercial banks, insurance companies, pension funds, investment companies and government agencies, are analyzed.
