Prerequisite: Successful completion of at least three Language Center levelII coursesPossible Corequisite: ENG 1301This course offers basic study skills and information literacy skills preparingstudents for academic success at AUI. Students are trained to take responsibility for their own learning through tasks that require them toreflect on, as well as evaluate, their current study habits, and to implementnew strategies that improve their learning. Students are also introducedto the Information Literacy Skills necessary to communicate effectively inonline, classroom, academic and group contexts. These skills include beingable to locate, evaluate, synthesize, and present information efficiently andeffectively. They learn and practice the principles of effective academicresearch, and demonstrate their mastery in a final project. This course canbe waived upon successful completion of a placement test.
