Description

Placement based on TOEFL subscores and / or placement tests.
The course is meant to polish the speech skills of students, refine students' academic listening skills, have students take efficient notes in an academic context, and build their confidence in giving effective, oral, academic presentations. The purpose of the course is thus to prepare them well for future academic settings where they would have to follow the pace of a class delivered by fluent, (near) native speaker teachers. Most of the class work is done in the audio, video, and multimedia laboratories.
