Description

This course is an introduction to the principles and processes of Cultural Anthropology with an emphasis on Applied Anthropology. The course has a
strong theoretical base linking social, economic, and political organizations to wider considerations of environment and culture. Students are introduced to
the main ethnographic methods and are required to use more than one of them in a field exercise. Students are encouraged to make connections between materials presented in class and the realities of life in the MENA region with an emphasis on Morocco's National Human Development Initiative. Students are also introduced to ethical issues of data collection and data analysis in the Social Sciences.
