Description

This course will provide an overview of clinical psychology and psychopathology. Clinical psychology is the study of the prevention, assessment, elioration of psychological distress and the enhancement of psychological and physical well-being. Psychopathology is the study of mental disorders. We will insider how the definition of "abnormality" has evolved through time, and we will learn about the signs and symptoms, along with the causes and treatments of mental disorders. The aim of this class is not to help understanding and supporting personal experiences with mental illness. This course will challenge preconceptions about psychological distress and mental disorders, with special attention given to the Moroccan context, and it will help develop conceptual knowledge intended to enhance critical thinking in this area.
