Zaydis, Isma'ilis and Sunni-Chi'i ecumenicism:

  • Zaydis consider Zayd a Caliph, a son of Zin el Abidin, different one from the recognized by the twelvers. They recognize Abu Baker and Umar, and their imam should be a descendant of Ali and Fatima. Also, they follow the Sunni Hanafi school.
  • Isma'ilis consider Ismail's designation valid. The rebellion started in Iraq and Syria. They have even taken out the Black stone out of the Kaaba at some point. The Fatimid movement started in Ninth Africa and took Egypt as a capital. they were strong economically and military. This have produced two groups: Mustalis and tayibis. In the 19th century, they were called Suffi Tariqa, Aga Khan being the leader. The special thing about this group is the extent to which they take Taqqia.
  • Although the Sunni and Chi'i lived in conflict for a long time, there has been a rapprochement when Al Azhar recognized Al Ja'fari to be a valid school. the conference allowed to recognize all the other groups as true muslims. The relation between the two groups incorporates both cooperation and conflict, In Iraq case for instance.
