Description

The course critically examines the sociocultural, political, economic and normative aspects of media policy, including media policy regulation, governance and funding arrangements. The primary focus is Global South nation-states but will include a brief review of hitorical and global contexts of media policy along with comparative case studies relevant to the main focus. The course will cover media policy in regards with different mediums such as broadcasting and television, audiovisual services, and concepts related to these mediums, such as convergence, censorship and intellectual property in relation to diverse media outlets and forms.
