Description

With the rapid evolution of media technologies, especially from the berinning of the twentieth first century, all sites of media production, distribution, analysis and consumption have been deeply impacted. Most importantly as these media technologies become more complex and at the same time more accessible, the lines between creators and audiences, producers and consumers, etc. Become blurrier than ever. Artificial intelligence is also becoming a part and parcel of media production, distribution, analysis and consumption. This course aims to investigate various ways that technologies (long before AI) have historically impacted how we, humans, think, behave or even engage with art and media texts. Students are encouraged to explore the ways in which digital media functions and investigate and analyze data privacy and protection in understanding the new media platforms. The course aims to assist students in analyzing different ethical considerations around AI and digital media. Students
