Various economic, social, and political changes both domestically and abroad have shaped American foreign policy and diplomacy in historic perspective. This course attempts to offer a comprehensive understanding of the evolution of doctrines, related interests, tools, goals, and accomplishments of US foreign policy and diplomacy. The class will examine key concepts such as "diplomacy" the "national interest" "power," and "policy instruments," in order to comprehend how the US applies these in its dealings with other countries and in addressing complex world problems
