Description
The main theories of economic development are surveyed. Comparison of their effects is applied to different regions of the world. Strategies of economic development among different regions of the world are compared. The similarities, the differences, and the lessons of different strategies of development are emphasized. The role of policies, institutions and the international environment in constraining the action of policy makers is examined.
