(1) What do you think someone would mean by "African Islam?" Do you think using that kind of geographical distinction is a productive/useful way to think about Islam?

NB: If you write that someone would mean "Islam in Africa," you will not receive credit. Think about the question for a moment. What does "African Islam" conjure in your imagination? How is it different from "Asian Islam" or "Middle Eastern Islam?"
