I chose Domingo López Ángel's picture, because it shows him wearing regular clothing with a traditional Mexican hat. The only sign of his religion in the picture is the unkempt beard which a lot of Muslim men have.
I think that Islam, especially in small communities such as this one, should be adapted to local customs in order to keep a certain sense of identity. Islam cannot just emerge out of nowhere to disregard centuries of indigenous practices, so I do not think they can separated.
