using the term African Islam is a way of differentiating the perception of Islam all over the world. It is like they are trying to build barriers between this religion in Africa and in other countries. Using this words shows that the conventional aspect of Islam is completely neglected as if Islam changes depending on the geographical area. Using the terms African Islam may seem as Islam is loosing its holy and unique aspects.
