I chose to talk about the first picture where we see Salma Palamo Diaz wearing a traditional clothes of Mexico. We can say that each Muslim living in a different countries want to "impose" their style but still dress properly. 

I think that the author meant that Muslims wants to introduce their culture to Islam in order to not lose their identity. I don't think Islam can be separated from other components of culture because as long as the religion is well practiced, the clothes and culture doesn't really matter.
